Have you tried nice cream before?

Jump To Recipe
I would love to know who was the first to create nice cream? Who decided to blend frozen bananas and make a healthy yet delicious soft-serve ice-cream? How much indebted we are to that person.
Not only is nice cream yummy, but also so versatile to adding different flavors, nut butters, protein powder, superfood powders and more.
Blending frozen bananas with just a splash of vanilla is pretty good, but if you want to hide the banana taste, and perhaps have some picky eaters at home, adding cocoa powder and peanut butter makes it taste so much like ice cream you won’t believe it. And if you top it with the magic shell then who can resist all the chocolateness? I know I can’t.
If you have never made nice cream before, what are you waiting for? Try it soon and let me know what you think in the comments below.

Cook Time: 0min

| servings: 2-3

Ingredients:
Nice Cream:
  • 2 cups frozen ripe banana
  • 2-3 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2-3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 scoop protein powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Maca powder (optional)
Magic Shell Topping:
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil (melted)
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions:
  1. If you plan to add the chocolate magic shell, start making it first, you want it ready to pour on the nice cream as soon as it’s done. Mix all the topping ingredients together until smooth and set aside.
  2. To make the nice cream, place all the ingredients in a food processor and process until combined. It will have a soft-serve ice cream consistency.
  3. Scoop into bowls and pour over the magic shell. Let the kids watch it harden before cracking with the spoon to get to the delicious creaminess underneath.
